Fall

My favorite time of year at last. I love fall... happy memories of hayrides, toilet papering teachers' houses, my birthday and Halloween. I remember one year my birthday was on a Saturday and we woke up and looked outside to see white (and little pink and green- do they still make colored toilet paper?) The big maple trees in the front yard were full of beautiful streamers and the shrubs around the house were covered. I was probably 8 or 9 and I was sure my parents set this up with the kids at school so they would come and decorate our lawn for my birthday. I should have known by my dad's cursing and my mom's careful collection of still usable half roles that they were as surprised as I was.

It finally felt like fall here over the weekend so we headed to the pumpkin patch. Actually more of a field that someone dropped a bunch of pumpkins in, but it did the trick for us. Morgan found some apple cider at the farm store. We picked 2 lovely pumpkins to carve and enjoyed a beautiful crisp fall day.
