Willamina entered a new chapter of her life today... solid food. She has been pretty interested in what mommy and daddy are eating for a while now, and with her 6 month birthday (oh my gosh!!) just a couple of weeks away we decided to go for it. Her choice for first meal... sweet potato. She was a little hesitant at first as you can see in the first video, but got the hang of it quickly- trying to put the whole spoon in her mouth.
The idea of solid foods is exciting, but a little sad for mommy. It is one of Willa's first little steps towards independence. Now anybody can feed her- it has been a one woman job except for a couple of ounces up to this point. It is an amazing privilege and responsibility to be the one person in the whole world with the perfect food for the perfect baby.
